We are happy to announce that the 11th Danube Participation Day took place on June 19, 2024 in Vienna. We had the pleasure to host participants from various countries in the Danube Region and beyond.
The main highlights included a reflective panel discussion attended by representatives from civil society organisations, Council of Europe Ukraine, Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy as well as the EUSDR presidency. The discussion led us through a reflective etape, were results of the previous Danube Participation Day were analysed. Afterwards the potential of macro-regional cooperation with the aim of aiding civil society and local actors was discussed. The panel then ended with the panelists expresing their expectations of todays event.
Next on the agenda was the Agora where participants had the opportunity to present their projects, initiatives and NGOs. Here we saw a multitude of innovative initiatives which will also be available online in due course.
After lunch the participants were invited to attend the three Transition Labs where they had the opportunity to discuss and identify needs as well as solutions and good practices on the following topics:
- Funding for civil society and local actors
- Capacity building
- Participation and Dialogue
The day then came to a close with the FunderĀ“s Talk panel, where representatives from the Austrian Development Agency, Danube Region Programme and Multi-agency Donor Coordination Platform for Ukraine/European Commission – DG NEAR offered insights into funding programmes, supported actions and the role of civil society and sub-national actors.
