This year, 37 nominees are competing for the Award for Good Administration from the European Ombudsman. If you want to support an initiative, take the opportunity to cast your vote until the 20th of June 2021.
Outstanding administrative performance in EU institutions
For the third time, the bienniel Award for Good Administration honours outstanding initiatives with a visible and positive impact on EU citizens. In doing so, the award raises awareness of good practices in public administrations in EU institutions.
In 2021, EU staffers, businesses, associations and civil society organisations nominated 37 initiatives.
“I look forward to once again receiving many excellent nominations for the award. It is more important than ever to recognise good administration when we see it,” said the European Ombudsman, Emily O’Reilly.
In addition to the overall award, the European Ombudsman is also awarding initiatives that showed excellence in citizen-focused services delivery, communications, innovation/transformation, and crisis management.
An advisory committee will draft a short list and the Ombudsmann will select the winners.
“People’s choice” award for public administration
A novelty for the present award procedure is the public vote. Until the 20th of June, people can cast their vote for their favourite initiative. If you are interested in the initiatives or want to support your favourite nominee, please visit the Nominations for the European Ombudsman “Award for Good Administration” 2021 | Event document | European Ombudsman (europa.eu)
The winners will be announced at the award ceremony on the 24th of June. The event will be online. The programme is available here.
We wish all the nominees best of luck!
