THE STATE OF EUROPEAN CITIES 2016
The report on “The State of European Cities 2016” analyses the performance of European cities with regard to the priorities of the Urban Agenda of the European Union and the 2030 Urban Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations.
The report is aiming at providing evidence in the area of jobs and skills, climate change mitigation and adaption, energy, mobility etc. in order to support policy-making. Additional to the assessment of economic, social and ecological trends in European cities, the report also presents examples of good practices related to urban development.
The State of European Cities report was prepared by DG Regio and UN-Habitat.
The Eurostat publication “Urban Europe – statistics on cities, towns and suburbs” contains additional insights to urban development and is recommended to be read in conjunction with the report.
