In the midst of challenging environments, civil society leaders in Ukraine are steering their organisations towards growth and resilience. To support these leaders in their journey, the Civil Society Leadership Programme for Ukraine (CLPU) offers a unique opportunity for capacity-building and networking within the sector.
Developed by NGO Academy, a collaboration between ERSTE Foundation and the Vienna University of Economics and Business, the CLPU is a comprehensive 10-day programme held in Austria. It is specifically tailored to address the needs of civil society organizations (CSOs) and their leaders in Ukraine.
Key Program Content:

- Resources Management: A crucial aspect of organisational development, sessions will focus on managing financial, human, and personal resources. Participants will learn strategies to navigate the unique challenges faced by NGO managers.
- Project Development and Communication: The programme includes sessions dedicated to project development and effective communication strategies for NGOs. Participants will gain practical tools and insights to enhance their organization’s impact and visibility.
- Leadership Development: Leadership is essential for driving change within civil society organisations. Through interactive sessions, participants will explore various leadership styles and techniques tailored to the nonprofit sector.
- Field Trips: To provide practical insights, the programme includes field trips to observe successful project implementations. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from real-world examples and engage with local experts.
- Reflection and Coaching: The programme concludes with reflection sessions on both personal and group levels. Participants will have the chance to apply their newfound knowledge and receive feedback through online coaching sessions.
One of the hallmarks of the CLPU is its balanced approach to theory and practice. Participants will benefit from the expertise of both academics and practitioners, gaining valuable insights and feedback to apply to their organizations.
