In the push towards a digitally integrated Europe by 2030, the Digital Decade target is steering all key public services online, accessible without discrimination across Member States. Central to this vision is the forthcoming Interoperable Europe Act, aiming towards driving cross-border interoperability and data exchange. Envisaging policy support projects and innovation measures, the Act aims to spur the development and uptake of interoperable solutions, bolstered by strengthened collaboration among Member States. An essential component is this Coordination and Support Action (CSA), poised to foster awareness, ideation, and piloting of interoperability assets for cross-border digital public services, culminating in solutions endorsed by the Interoperable Europe Board.
Expected Effects and Impacts:
- Collaboration Scheme: Establish a sustainable framework for multi-stakeholder collaboration aligned with the Interoperable Europe Act’s governance structure.
- Strategic Roadmap: Develop a roadmap based on consultations with stakeholders to outline actions and support measures needed for achieving Interoperable Europe objectives.
- Implementation Plan: Detail how the strategic roadmap will be executed, including timelines, investments, capacity needs, milestones, and KPIs.
Expected Results:
Expected results include heightened awareness, facilitated collaboration, and the identification of requirements and solutions for cross-border services. This CSA will serve as a testbed for interoperability solutions, fostering collaboration, data sharing, and knowledge exchange across European public administrations.
Action Plan:
The CSA will convene stakeholders to shape a collaboration platform, map existing solutions, and identify missing ones. It will develop a concrete roadmap, seek synergies with relevant Union and national programs, and liaise with the Interoperable Europe Board and Community for optimal interconnections.
With these concerted efforts, Europe strides toward a digitally unified future, building the capacity of Member States to implement the Interoperable Europe Act effectively.
