The European Commission opened a Public Consultation on a new EU Civil Society Strategy. The strategy should provide a comprehensive framework for action at both EU and member state level. The objective of the strategy is to strengthen meaningful engagement and support for civil society. Furthermore, it is expected to address the shrinking of civic space and to promote and protect EU values. In doing so, the strategy aims at identifying needs and challenges faced by civil society and identify existing measures that promote dialogue and cooperation.
Hence, the European Commission published this call for evidence, where stakeholders can provide feedback until 5 September 2025.
