FACILITATING COOPERATION BETWEEN MACRO-REGIONS

Which issues are currently relevant for the four macro-regional strategies of the European Union? Where are potential interfaces for cooperation between the strategies?

In October, INTERACT presented – for the first time – all four macro-regional strategies in the programme’s publication “Macro-regional strategies in changing times”. The publication aims at enhancing mutual understanding of the functioning of the strategies and at facilitating cooperation between them.

Authors representing the EUSBSR, EUSDR, EUSAIR and EUSALP shared insights into common challenges of macro-regional strategies and their potential for future development. The contributions address topics such as the coordination of funds, multi-level governance, involvement of civil society in public governance, EU neighbourhood policy and the coordination between strategies.
