The European Commission is taking significant steps to increase the involvement of girls and women in Infomation and Communication Technology (ICT), aligning with targets set for the Digital Decade. With this in mind this Digital Europe Call has a twofold objective: to address the gender gap in the ICT sector and to fulfil the ´Women in Digital Declaration` goal of equality in technology-related fields.

Objectives of the Call specified:

  • Identifying Obstacles: The initiative aims to pinpoint the primary obstacles hindering girls and women from pursuing educational and professional pathways in ICT.
  • Showcasing Actions: It seeks to showcase practical and effective actions to amplify the representation of females in the digital sector.
  • Creating a Network: Establishing a network of expertise and a community of stakeholders to ensure ongoing support and information exchange across Europe.

Expected Results and Impact:

  • Monitoring progress in implementing the ‘Women in Digital Declaration’ and achieving Digital Decade targets.
  • Establishing a diverse network of stakeholders including academia, NGOs, and civil society organizations.
  • Analysing the gender gap within ICT education and professions.
  • Providing well-documented recommendations for combating the gender imbalance in ICT.

Financial Support:

Financial assistance is available for activities related to monitoring progress, engaging stakeholders, and analysing the gender gap within ICT.

Eligibility Criteria:

Proposals must be submitted by a consortium of minimum 3 independent applicants (beneficiaries; not affiliated entities) from 3 different eligible countries.

To be eligible for funding, applicants must be legal entities (public or private bodies) established in one of the eligible countries:
