Join the 3rd EU Macro-Regional Strategies Week

March 7, 2022in 2022 0 Likes

The 3rd EU Macro-Regional Strategies (MRS) Week starts today.

From Monday, 7th of March, until Friday, 11th of March, stakeholders across Europe and beyond can participate in the EU MRS Week and exchange about cooperation.

This year’s motto is “Enagage, Empower, Evolve” and shows how stakeholders in the 4 macro-regional strategies make use of their opportunities. A special focus lies on Youth, the European Green Deal, and Social Innovation.

For the first time, a call for stakeholder sessions has been launched around the three chosen topics to form part of the programme. These sessions will broaden involvement and give various stakeholders from the EU and beyond to possibility to shape the EU MRS Week with the organisers. All stakeholder sessions will be held in digital formats.

Check out the programme and select the sessions that you would like to join.

Smart Villages for a sustainable Europe

The thematic session on Smart Villages: smart solutions for innovative rural communities in macro-regions takes place on Thursday, 10th of March 2022, 9.00-10.30 CET.

The session aims at discussing how macro-regional strategies (MRS) can support policy makers and practitioners in developing and implementing the smart village approach. It provides the opportunity to discuss how cross-MRS exchange can increase capacities to address challenges in rural communities and encourages participants to share their view on what it needs and takes to develop smart solutions for greener, social, and more attractive rural communities.

The session is organised by Priority Area 10 “Institutional Capacity and Cooperation” (EU Danube Strategy) in cooperation with Action Group 5 “Connectivity and Accessibility” (EU Alpine Strategy) and PA Innovation (EU Baltic Sea Strategy), and with the contribution of the Interreg project D-CARE Lab.
