Digitalisation is a key driver of economic growth and innovation. Within the EUSDR, financing digitalisation projects plays a crucial role in unlocking the region´s potential and directly contributes to PA10 Action 1: To improve institutional capacities in order to provide high-quality public services.

Financing digitalisation fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint initiatives among Danube countries. Coordinated funding efforts enable the development of digital ecosystems, nurturing innovation, entrepreneurship and digital skills acquisition while promoting collaboration and regional integration. This collaborative approach promotes integration within the region and lays the foundation for sustainable growth.

Furthermore, efforts to build capacities for efficient and effective public administration form an integral part of PA10 actions. Digitalisation enables not only the modernisation of governmental processes and public services but also fascilitates the establishmet of secure and reliable data management systems. Additionally, by harnessing the potential of digital technologies, governments can streamline administrative processes, enhance service delivery, and engage citizens in a more participatory manner.

Accessing funding mechanisms within the Danube Region can be done through the European Union´s financial instruments such as CEF, Erasmus+, and Horizon Europe. These programmes offer grants and financial assistance for digitalisation projects. Additionally, the Digital Europe Programme and ERDF also provide crucial support for digitalisation projects in the Danube region. Aligning project proposals with EU priorities and leveraging available funding streams amplifies the impact of investments.
