The Danube Participation Day will provide the opportunity to discuss digital transformation on governance and participation in the Danube Region:
- What are the potentials and challenges of the digital transition?
- How do we need to re-design public services?
- What can we learn from current eGovernance initiatives and smart concepts?
- How can deliberative processes and meaningful participation of civil society look like in a digital arena?
- What could be the role of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region support participation in digital decision-making procedures?
Experts and practitoners from the Danube Region and European institutions will discuss insights, challenges, potentials and pre-conditions for meaningful participation in the digital transition.
The panels will address factors like trust in eGovernment, accessibility, digital skills, transparency and Open Government models as well as co-designing policies in view of digitalisation. Furthermore, the Danube Participation Day will provide the opportunity for participants to share their experience with peers. In doing so, the conference seeks to work out which aspects of digitalisation need to be tackled first in order to benefit people in the Danube Region best.
The second day will focus on how macro-regional networks can support a digital transition that benefits people in the Eurpean Union and its neighbours.
