In 2020, the European Commission published the revised Action Plan of the EU Danube Strategy. In doing so, the strategy took stock of its achieved goals and new challenges. Likewise, the new Action Plan marked the relaunch of collaboration with stakeholders from the public and the private sector at all levels.
Systemic crises such as climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic or the war in Ukraine reiterated the importance of cooperation.
Hence, the 9th Danube Participation Day addresses multi-sector stakeholder cooperation for a resilient Danube Region. The conference aims at making the case for participatory governance as an essential tool for resilient development. Establishing trust between state and non-state actors and implementing strong collaboration ties helps societies to respond quickly to crises and pro-actively develop solutions.
Resilience through Diversity
The 9th Danube Participation Day with the motto “Resilience through Diversity” takes place on the 18 October 2022, back-to-back with the EUSDR Annual Forum. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss expectations of civil society/stakeholder involvement , success factors for civil society participation, and lessons learnt from over 10 years of experience with different ways of stakeholder involvement in the Danube Strategy.
Save the date and join the discussion about a resilient future for the Danube Region.
