The Central European University (CEU) opened a call for application for the Roma Graduate Preparation Program (RGPP) 2020/21. This is a full-time, non-degree program and students need to stay at CEU for the duration of all the terms. The scholarship covers travel to and from CEU, visa costs, tuition fee, accommodation in the CEU Residence Center, health insurance, study materials. It also includes a monthly stipend for living expenses.
What?
The Roma Graduate Preparation Program is an intensive, 10-month, non-degree program that prepares Roma students to compete for merit-based places in English-language master’s degree programs. With this program, the CEU seeks to commit ensured equal access to higher education for Roma. Successful applicants will be awarded full merit-based scholarships for the whole duration of the program.
Who?
The programm looks for applicants who openly declare themselves as Roma and are interested in social sciences and humanities. Potential applicants need to come from one of the following countries: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine. However, the CEU will also consider applicants from countries other than the ones listed.
Furthermore, applicants need to have a university degree (Bachelor diploma), preferably in social sciences or humanities completed by July 2020.
When?
The Roma Graduate Preparation Program 2020/2021 runs from from end of August/September 2020 until the middle/end of June 2021.
The deadline for application is the 15th of March 2020. The CEU will pre-select the applications until end of March. Subsequently, the CEU will conduct interviews with the short-listed applicants between April and May 2020. By the second half of June 2020, the CEU will announce the final decision.
