The Guidance Paper for Youth Participation addresses benefits, necessary conditions and good practice examples of youth involvement. In doing so, the paper aims at providing guidance to youth initiatives and launching a discussion within the EU Danube Strategy on how to involve young people.
At the 7th Danube Participation Day on the 21st of October 2020, Priority Area 10 “Institutional Capacity and Cooperation” presented the state of play of the draft guidance paper. The drafting process was launched at the 6th Danube Participation Day in Bucharest and was accompanied by several consultation processes since then. This year’s Danube Participation Day offered an additional opportunity to discuss and reflect upon the the paper.
Likewise, the Guidance paper for Youth Participation not only seeks to promote youth participation as one of the targets of Priority Area 10 “Institutional Capacity and Cooperation”, but also addresses one of the strategic objective of the EU Danube Strategy related to the involvement of civil society and the youth.
The next step of the drafting process is to adapt the paper according to the outcomes of the 7th Danube Participation Day and a selection proces of good practice examples. The paper is expected to be finalised by end of 2020.
