The Steering Group is the main decision-making body of Priority Area 10 “Institutional Capacity & Cooperation”. In this capacity, the Steering Group assists the Priority Area’s Coordination team to anchor and encourage the development and implementation of suitable activities that contribute to Priority Area’s actions and targets.
In addition, the Steering Group makes decisions regarding the future development, objectives, and prioritisation of activities in the area of institutional capacity-building and cooperation in the Danube Region. The roles, tasks, and functioning of the Steering Group is outlined in the Guidelines for the Steering Group.

- Representatives of the Danube countriesAll 14 partner countries of the Danube Region are full members of the Steering Group.
- European InstitutionsThe European Commission (DG REGIO) and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) are observing members in the Steering Group.

The Steering Group Meetings take place twice a year. The meetings are the central platform for discussions and decision-making for Priority Area 10 “Institutional Capacity and Cooperation”.

The extended Steering Group Meetings are online meetings that address single actions with the members of the Steering Group as well as experts and practitioners in order to define concrete needs to implement the PA 10 actions and targets.
